Wakestock’s final day in Collingwood, Ontario Canada couldn’t have been scripted any better by Hollywood. The Super Finals of the Wakestock WWA World Series Pro Wakeboard presented by Monster Energy, Billabong and Nautique Boats came down to four past Wakestock champions; Bob Soven, Harley Clifford, Aaron Rathy and Phil Soven...Continue Reading Here

JD Webb Plots His Wake Games ReturnRead more...

In a recent interview with Transworld JD talks about his injury to the knee last year and what his recovery has been like and we can expect for this upcoming 2011 season.

When the 2011 Nautique Wake Games kick off on April 28 at the Orlando Watersports Complex, JD Webb will get his first taste of King of Wake action in nearly a year. After finishing third at last year’s Wake Games, Webb was sidelined for much of the 2010 competitive season when he injured his knee at the Masters. But Webb rebounded strong, winning the Oakley Riot and finishing third at Red Bull’s Wake of Fame to close out the year. Now, Webb is looking to get back into the thick of the King of Wake season standings. With the Wake Games looming, we talked to Webb about his renewed focus and why the Nautique-sponsored event is the perfect place to launch his King of Wake reboot.
You were MIA for most of the 2010 season; what happened? I tore my meniscus at Masters last year. It’s a pretty simple knee injury, but I had to miss a few contests because of it. It sucks being injured.

Are you ready to ride again? I am. Red Bull hooked me up with a lot of good doctors and trainers to get me heeled and ready to ride. I’ve spent a lot of time practicing and training on and off the water to get ready for next season. I feel more prepared than I’ve ever been. (continue Reading here)

Brian Reeder talks about his FirstsRead more...

Dragon's Brian Reeder recently sat down with our boys at Alliance Wake to discuss a little about his first times. Check out what he had to say.

Tell us about your first:

Encounter with a “pro wakeboarder”: I was at a contest in Lake Gaston, NC. I guess he had just moved up there and I remember seeing his Malibu boat that was wrapped in real-tree camouflage. I talked to him and found out that he was sponsored by Vivid Adult Entertainment. From this point forward I was absolutely certain that I wanted to be a pro wakeboarder.

CD you ever bought: I didn’t buy it but for Christmas one year I got a CD player and two CD’s. One was Michael Jackson’s Off The Wall, and the other was Tag Team with the jam “Whoop there it is!”

Concert you went to: Papa Roach with special guests Alien Ant Farm. Wow that’s bad huh!? I remember the mosh pit was crazy. I ended up falling on top of this dude and squishing him with my knee. He was screaming at me to get up because he couldn’t breath, but I was just as helpless with like 3 or 4 guys on my back. The whole experience was TOO much.

Experience with adult beverages: I drank a couple of “hootches” which is now called Mike’s Hard Lemonade. I woke up in the middle of the night to go pee and thought I was in the bathroom, but it turns out I was in the master bedroom of my friends double wide peeing against the window as it splashed back at my legs…I was asked to leave shortly after.

Box of free gear: I met Brad Williams from Wake N’ Skate boardshop and he was repping for Rip Curl at the time. He saw a couple of good photos of me and I had been doing well at some regional contests so he hooked me up. I remember the box had my name on it and was filled with boardshorts, vests, clothing and more. I was redlining at this point!

Car: I had a ’93 white Jeep Wrangler lifted with oversized tires. I bought it from some redneck. We used to fill water balloons with paint and launch them from the roll bars with a three man slingshot. Rebel style.

Tattoo: It’s the Virginia tattoo on my upper left arm. Chris Mack from East Side Tattoo did it and the experience was awesome. We ordered pizzas, chilled out, and had a good time. My brother got one on that same visit.

Time visiting the hospital from wakeboarding: In Clermont when I put my arm through the handle at the WWC aka the Hansen’s wakeboard camp. I did a wrapped toeside 5 and got on a weird axis, threw the handle, but when I came down to the water it was waiting for me. Wrong place at the wrong time. It ripped the skin under my armpit in half. 200 + stitches.

Pole Jam: I was hanging out with the Shredtown crew in Orlando and we went to this spot by the airport. We set up a 20 foot long flimsy ass pole off the end of a 4 trex wide up ramp and gapped from one pond to the other. We were all scared that when we came off the end and the pole rebounded we would get “rail jammed” if you know what I mean. Luckily we escaped unharmed.
