After nearly 10 down days in a row, the Billabong Rio Pro has wrapped. With tons of Brazilians flying everywhere, Mick Fanning and Ace Buchan still managed to crush their way through a few heats and pull in some solid results. Mick, who now sits in third overall, made his way to the Semi-Finals before taking a loss to eventual winner, Jordy Smith.Mick wasn't the only one who made it through a few rounds, and Brazil saw Ace pull in an equal 5th and his best result of the year. Lucky for them, they are recognized for the size of their...waves, and honored at the Billabong XXL Awards. We suspected Shane would clean up for his performance at Jaws, and he did, taking home a check for Tube of the Year and Ride of the Year. For a while it seemed like New Mexico was the best place to live if you wanted to be a pro motocross racer. Ivan Tedesco, Justin Buckelew, the Johnson clan, Ryan Clark and a few others were all breaking into the sport at once. And then the state went dry… until recently. Jason Anderson considered making his pro debut in 2010 but decided to wait for the right opportunity to present itself. It was a wise decision as the Rockstar Suzuki team picked him up for this year.
