We've often said beware of the Dragon Youth Alliance, and this week in Fiji the boys made us proud. Earning a spot in the VQS World Championships by winning the VQS Surf Tour in their home territory, Carlsbad's own Taylor Clark made his way to the VQS Champs to battle the other elite qualifiers, while Jordy Lawler held it down for Oz. After nearly 10 down days in a row, the Billabong Rio Pro has wrapped. With tons of Brazilians flying everywhere, Mick Fanning and Ace Buchan still managed to crush their way through a few heats and pull in some solid results. Mick, who now sits in third overall, made his way to the Semi-Finals before taking a loss to eventual winner, Jordy Smith.Mick wasn't the only one who made it through a few rounds, and Brazil saw Ace pull in an equal 5th and his best result of the year.
