|
With a growing list of amateur accomplishments to his credit, Wharton opted to take the next step in his career and turn pro in 2008 by running the final three events of the outdoor season. In 2010, Wharton nabbed top-10 finishes in the point standings in both the Monster Energy Supercross Lites West and Lucas Oil AMA Motocross 250cc class. The Texan earned his best Supercross finish of third in Phoenix and closed out the season fifth in points. During the outdoor Motocross season, Wharton was on the podium twice, in High Point and Unidilla, and wound up eighth overall. "You learn so much every time out," Wharton said. "I've been working really hard on some great things, practicing a lot, working on my speed and endurance too. I know whenever we show up to a race it's going to be game on and I want to show up ready." Wharton will be competing in the AMA Supercross East Coast Lites and AMA Motocross Nationals this season.
