We've often said beware of the Dragon Youth Alliance, and this week in Fiji the boys made us proud. Earning a spot in the VQS World Championships by winning the VQS Surf Tour in their home territory, Carlsbad's own Taylor Clark made his way to the VQS Champs to battle the other elite qualifiers, while Jordy Lawler held it down for Oz. Dragon congratulates both of its riders for taking home an equal third result and handling the pumping waves Fiji is famous for. Yeah, groms!Taylor Clark punts one. Danny Davis still knows how to handle in the pipe despite a few months on the injured list.Grenade Games has long been the place for on-hill debauchery and free flowing good times, and Grenade Games 9 at Mammoth was no exception. After nearly 10 down days in a row, the Billabong Rio Pro has wrapped. With tons of Brazilians flying everywhere, Mick Fanning and Ace Buchan still managed to crush their way through a few heats and pull in some solid results. Mick, who now sits in third overall, made his way to the Semi-Finals before taking a loss to eventual winner, Jordy Smith.Mick wasn't the only one who made it through a few rounds, and Brazil saw Ace pull in an equal 5th and his best result of the year. The Rockstar/JCR Honda team of Timmy Weigand, Colton Udall and David Kamo took the overall motorcycle win at the 45th Tecate Baja 500, May 31-June 2.The team completed the race in nine hours, 46 minutes and 50 seconds.Their nearest competitor was the KTM team made up of Kurt Caselli, Ivan Ramirez, Mike Brown and Justin Jones that crossed the finish line about 28 minutes back.
